Roche CAP Meeting Minutes



	CAP Topics Experience has led the CAP to recognize a number of topic areas that have had the greatest bearing on efforts the group has undertaken. These areas have been segmented so that a topic can most often be reviewed or presented as background to new members during a single meeting. The following list of topics reflects the historic responsibilities taken on by the CAP and is not intended to preclude future additions. Topic 1: Roche Colorado Corporation Overview Presents a general overview of Roche Colorado’s pharmaceutical research, development, and manufacturing activities in Boulder as well as RCC’s place in the global Roche organization. Topic 2: Roche Colorado's Pollution Prevention Activities Surveys the pollution prevention measures in effect at Roche Colorado. Topic 3: Pharmaceutical Manufacturing at Roche Colorado Describes the processes that Roche Colorado uses to manufacture its pharmaceutical products. Topic 4: Roche Colorado's Current Product Stream A briefing on one or more of the important pharmaceutical products Roche Colorado is producing. Topic 5: General Risk Assessment and Toxicology Tutorial A local expert is engaged to provide a tutorial on the assessment of health risks associated with chemical exposure. Topic 6: Process Safety Management at Roche Colorado A description of the methods Roche Colorado uses to assess process safety risks and to develop the systems for managing these risks. Topic 7: Roche Colorado's Hazard Analysis Laboratory The manager of Roche Colorado's Hazard Analysis Laboratory describes the procedures used by the Laboratory for developing the physical data that is used in Process Safety Management (including a physical demonstration). Topic 8: Roche’s Roots in Risk Assessment and Risk Management The Roche Corporate Risk Assessment Directive, the EPA's Risk Management Program, and the site incident investigation procedure are explained. Topic 9: Emergency Planning & Response and Incident Investigation The manager of Roche Colorado's emergency planning and response activities provides an overview of Roche Colorado's Emergency Brigade activities and Roche Colorado's coordination with Boulder County's emergency response units. Topic 10: Roche Colorado’s Plant Closure Procedures Roche Colorado staff outlines the extensive planning procedures followed to prepare for the possibility of a site-wide shut down. Topic 11: Site Security at Roche Colorado An overview of Roche Colorado’s site security system and technologies is given in consideration of their role in hazard management. Topic 12: Roche Colorado's Community Relations Activities A survey of Roche Colorado's community outreach initiatives. Topic 13: Roche Colorado’s Path toward Sustainability Provides a comprehensive review of Roche Colorado’s commitment to sustainability, entailing the three pillars of economic, environmental and social values. Topic 14: Governing Environmental Statutes and Regulations A forum for the detailed historical study and present-day review of environmental statutes and regulations governing Roche Colorado activities. Topic 15: Drug Pricing Covers considerations involved in pricing drugs worldwide, from finding profitable candidates after the expense of development and regulatory approval to remaining viable as a business while donating valuable product rights in support of the humanitarian delivery of AIDS drugs to poor nations at the lowest possible price.
