How
We Function
The Roche Community Advisory Panel (CAP) meets once per month to discuss issues of community interest related to Roche Colorado operations in Boulder, Colorado. Topics relevant to the group are presented and discussed during each meeting. The CAP decides meeting agendas in consultation with company representatives. Roche Colorado staff aids the group in learning more about issues on behalf of the community. From these meetings, recommendations are made to Roche Colorado about any issues of community concern regarding the company.
The CAP is a volunteer organization with two-year membership terms. Recruitment is facilitated by a Membership Committee made up of at least three CAP members and a Roche Colorado official. Community members of all backgrounds are sought to assure a diversified representation of the Boulder community.
There is a Chair to the CAP who is responsible for helping keep order during the meetings. The Chair is elected by majority vote, once per year.
All decisions made by the CAP are that of consensus. Attending Roche Colorado representatives are not included in the consensus process but do participate in discussions in order to clarify company interests and technical details. These discussions are held under confidentiality to enable an open information flow and ensure that CAP members can work effectively as liasons to resolve any discrepancies that might arise between community and company concerns.
The CAP serves as an advisory panel and not a decision-making body for Roche Colorado. However, CAP opinions are relayed to the company and have influence at the plant and corporate level.
